AppStore Pearl 15/10
The discovery of an unpublished fourth-generation iPhone has determined in recent days the headlines. One may well say without exaggeration that this is despite often leaked information to the Internet’s largest security since the breakdown of Rückkerhr Steve Jobs is. A small detail found in the technical specifications is also quite interesting for the developers and thus also for the AppStore. Thus the new device is intended to a slightly smaller display, but have a higher resolution (960×640 pixels are currently in discussion). The question now, of course, as the device responds to the apps that were actually designed for a different resolution. Apple has so far not commented on this, for the iPad, the developers were, however, a few weeks to adjust their Apps. So it is natural to suspect that the new iPhone SDK will take care of a corresponding adjustment of the resolution and representation. Let us surprise you also. But until then, just have fun with the current (still iPad-free) AppStore result of my pearls! Read the rest of this entry »
Printing from Mac to a Windows server
Since I was recently confronted with this problem itself, here a small tutorial on how to print from a Mac, if the network has a print server running under Windows. What sounds trivial in itself, is in practice were a little bit tricky, so it has cost me some of Googelei, until I then had the solution ready at last. The whole thing was tried in a Windows 2000 domain with Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard and a HP Laserjet 4014n. The Windows 2000 server is used as a print server for the entire network. Users log into the domain using your username and password. Read the rest of this entry »

Steve Jobs open letter on Flash
The topic of Apple and Flash really busy since the first iPhone, the world around the half-eaten apple. Apple’s latest quarterly figures
Yesterday evening, Apple was once again the quarterly results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2010 (January-March known).
