Windows malware disguised as an iTunes update

Let’s start today Tuesday with a small safety notice for all Windows users. Some hackers attempt to date to make the hype iPad iPad advantage and have owners with Windows machines selected as victims.

In an e-mail with the subject line “iPad Software Update” iPad they point towards a supposed fix for the iTunes.

A link in the email then leads to a malicious Web page that mimics the download page of iTunes. Instead of iTunes, you charge there, however, the malware Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY down. This virus is able to do so, passwords and other confidential information to read out and allow the attacker to take control of the computer.

At this point, once again the urgent indication that Apple generally does not send update requests via e-mail. Users are Mac OS X not vulnerable to this virus.
