Continuing with this series of three articles, I will now tell you, for those who have not already noticed, we already have available some of the functions of Maps that was missing and saw only operate in other countries. And this is how to get there. When we open the Maps application (or maps), we see that we have two buttons on the bottom, one that is Search, which is the default option that we use, and allows us to locate on the map, or find some direction.

And the other button is precisely Directions, we change the top bar, opening two, one that says “Home” and another that says “Final”. Until recently, this function was not authorized to Peru, but now (I do not know exactly from where, I just noticed it a few days ago), it does mark a route as you can see in the pictures above, I got my device .

Its operation is quite simple and intuitive: just put a home address, one in the end (either may be our current location) and press the button “Route”. After a few seconds, you see the route on the map, and for directions, we only give the “Start” button is at the upper right corner. And we get the signs.

There is a GPS navigator with voice commands, but it is a step towards it. And it’s free. If you have not tried it yet, take heart. And if someone outside of Lima you can try, let us know what cities also works.
