iPhone iPod Plus

You can control the music on your computer or Apple TV from your iPod touch or iPhone. Play, pause, skip, shuffle. See your songs, playlists, and album art. Remote is a software application for iPhone and iPod touch that lets you control playback of audio and video in your iTunes library and the Apple TV.

Here we explain how to configure Remote and how to solve problems that may arise. Remote can be downloaded from the iTunes Store through the store App Store on iPhone or iPod touch and iTunes on your Mac or PC.

System Requirements for Remote (iTunes)
iPhone or iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later
iTunes 7.7 or later

iPhone or iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later
Apple TV software version 2.1 or later

Remote Configuration
Remote must be linked to your iTunes library or an Apple TV to control playback of content. Follow these instructions to link to Remote.
iTunes Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
Connect the iPhone or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the local network to which your Mac or PC.
Open the Remote application on your mobile device.
Select Add Library in the Remote settings screen.
Remote will display a 4-digit password. In iTunes, select the name of the iPhone or iPod touch in the Devices list, and enter the password.
Remote will be linked to iTunes and you can start exploring the library through Remote and select content for playback.

Apple TV
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
Connect the iPhone or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the LAN to which the Apple TV.
Open the Remote application on your mobile device.
Select Add Library in the Remote settings screen.
Remote will display a 4-digit password. The Apple TV main menu, select Settings, then General and Remote.
Select the name of the iPhone or iPod touch.
Enter your 4-digit password. Use the arrow keys up / down volume on the Apple Remote (Infrared) to change the number displayed and keys follow next / previous to change the digits.
Click Exit.
Remote will be linked to the Apple TV and you can start exploring the library through Remote and select content for playback.
