gps navigation on the iPhone Part 3: Application Waze
Today I finish this series of publications on the GPS navigation on the iPhone in Peru. In the first mentioned the lack of a special application to convert our device in a GPS navigator with voice guidance, as there are solutions to many other countries (type TomTom or NDrive).
Then in the second part mentioned the new features of the Maps application that comes with the iPhone, and now gives us directions to our destination, but still with many limitations. Well today I speak a bit of an application that overcomes some of these shortcomings.
The application is called Waze, and is a mix of navigation application, applying social network type. In addition to us on the map, enter an address allows us to give us directions on how to reach a destination (not voice, but with indications on the screen). And also allows us to share information about traffic conditions with other users, for example, traffic policing, speed control, etc. This is most important to me, because if more people started using it, we will have much more information that can help us make better choices our way, knowing what they are with traffic congestion, or where the police are being beaten. Interesting, right?
I spoke recently with the creators of this application and told me that since there are several users in our country, but we are still far from the number of users that are in other countries, which are basic to participate and share the info to greater benefit of all users. Waze application is free and can be downloaded here .
If anyone know of any other useful application for safe driving, with navigation information, share it with other readers.
