Making backups of your iTunes content on a CD or DVD
Since the release of iTunes 7 offers a new way to make a backup of your iTunes library, playlists, and iTunes Store purchases (including applications store bought applications). Save the backup function on the disk can store content on blank discs (CD or DVD), so that once the backup, iTunes can use these backup discs to automatically restore your iTunes library
Overview of steps
Step 1

To burn a CD (CD-R or CD-RW), your computer must have a compatible CD burner. To burn a DVD (DVD-R or DVD-RW), your computer must have a DVD compatible.
This sounds like a truism, but I specified in case.
Should not have drive recorder, remember that there are other ways to perform this operation (see step by step how to use your iPod to move your music to another computer, for example).
Further clarification on the process, is that the “Back Up To Disc” to back up the following files from your iTunes library: Applications, Audiobooks, Games, Movies, Music, Music Videos, Podcasts, Ringtones and Programs television.
Step 2
Anyway, to see if the drive is compatible, follow these steps in iTunes Preferences: 1. Open iTunes Preferences – Mac: In the iTunes menu, choose Preferences. – Windows: From the Edit menu, click Preferences. 2. Click Advanced. 3. Click Recording. 4. If the drive listed indicates that it is compatible.
Step 3
To create a backup disk: 1. On the File menu, choose Save backup disk. 2. Select the option you want in the dialog box that appears, and click Copy. The system gives you several options to choose – Save backup entire iTunes library and playlists – Save backup only purchases from the iTunes Store – Whatever option you choose, keep in mind you can also select “Save backup only items added or modified since the last backup” to perform a backup gradual.
Step 4
Once we have selected the option that we use, the next step is to insert a blank disc (CD or DVD) in your optical drive. iTunes will scan the disc and start recording. (Note: If the disc does not have enough space to house all of the contents of which will perform the backup, you’ll see a dialog box asking if you’d like to take the backup using multiple discs. Haz click Data Discs to continue) then iTunes will save the number of items that fit on one disk, and then asked to introduce the following discs to continue burning the remaining files. Do not eject a disc while a backup is in progress. (Note: You can not back up the spoken programs purchased from the Audible.com website) Another important clarification is that the discs are created using the backup iTunes can only be used to restore. Can not be played on a CD or DVD player.
Step 5
Another option that provides us with iTunes is restoring from a backup disk. To make it follow these steps: 1. Open iTunes. 2. Insert your backup disk. 3. iTunes asks if you want to restore from this disc. Click Restore.
