Apple patents a GPS system for cars
It was found a new patent reveals that Apple’s efforts in creating a proprietary GPS software can accurately calculate journey times and routes of a route, drawing information from other users and using data sent and stored in a centralized server.
The patent, which was filed in 2008, reveals a system capable of running speed, time, geographical location, driving habits, season, type of roads with traffic information, road condition to estimate precisely the time to guide and click the best route. The system will also be able to consider other factors, such as stop lights and crossing the railway tracks.
It is not clear whether this system will become the only usable or one of many to compete in the GPS devices on Apple App Store already contains several navigation software for GPS. It is not excluded that there might be even a protected idea, but not necessarily in anticipation of development.
